- Always put things in writing to other people, for the sake of clarity & precision
- Always get things in writing from other people as a record of what has been said
- Always get agreement from Beneficiaries on contentious decisions, although strictly not required in law
- Always try to keep Beneficiaries, Creditors, Inland Revenue informed as to progress
- Don’t delay unnecessarily
- Pay Inheritance Tax and Income Tax by the due dates
- Ask for professional advice at any point and don’t be too squeamish over reasonable costs
- Be absolutely honest and fair between all Beneficiaries even if you are one of them
- Don’t profit from your position to the detriment of other Beneficiaries
