D » Debts

All debts (including loans to family members) need to identified as at the date of death, and the total (including foreign debts) shown on the Probate Application Forms.

All creditors should be contracted in writing and given the name & address of the Executor/Administrator and told when the Grant is expected to issue and when repayment is expected to be made.

After issue of the Grant, when sufficient liquid funds have been collected in, pay first those debts still incurring interest. Those debts with a frozen balance may be dealt with when convenient.

When paid, request confirmation, in writing, that the debts are settled and no further claim on the Estate exists
